However, the rest of the island is simply lined with well-groomed condos, quaint cottages, and quiet parks. On the southern end of Estero Island is Lover’s Key State Park. Here you will find unspoiled beaches full of shells, mangrove forests full of wildlife and amenities such as bathrooms and a snack shop. The Fort Myers Beach area also offers activities such as snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking and hiking. If you are up for a little drive hot spots such as Naples, Captiva Island and Sanibel Island are only a half hour’s drive or less away. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is just 6 miles away from Fort Myers Beach.
