Hobe Sound is part of Florida’s Treasure Coast, named for the many treasures that have been found from 300 year old shipwrecks along the coast. This area of Florida is much more calm and serene when compared to its neighbor the Gold Coast to the south. Being a small community here, Hobe Sound is a great place to enjoy the ocean in a small town atmosphere. Just outside of the Sound is Jonathan Dickinson State Park. This is a very popular sightseeing park and canoeing area. The park also has many nature trails, which are perfect for bird watching. Fishing, golfing, snorkeling and surfing are also popular activities in Hobe Sound. A short trip to the north will put you on Hutchinson Island where there are many museums, public beaches and exquisite shopping in nearby Stuart. If you are looking for a fun and truly relaxing vacation, then Hobe Sound is the perfect place for you. The nearest airports to Hobe Sound are Palm Beach International Airport (PBI, 25miles), St. Lucie County International Airport (FPR, 35miles) and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL, 70miles). |
