Jupiter Island is a barrier island along Florida’s Gold Coast, which is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the intra coastal waterway on its west. The area does not see the amount of tourists that its southern neighbor, Palm Beach, does. Which is why it is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the seaside at your own pace. Jupiter Island and the area around the Jupiter Inlet offer nature exhibits, trails for hiking and biking, shallow wading areas for kids, and lifeguards. The ocean here is perfect for you to try your hand at windsurfing, surfing, or maybe even a little fishing off one of the piers. There is also a nearby coral reef and many old shipwrecks, perfect for diving and snorkeling. Local clubs provide the public with great golf courses and tennis courts. In the springtime you might even catch a glimpse of the St. Louis Cardinals or the Montreal Expos as they conduct their spring training here. If you are looking for something fun and interesting, you should head out to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, which offers tours and has a historical museum. There is also the Marine Life Center in Juno Beach, just south of Jupiter. Premier shopping and dining is easily found in the downtown area. Palm Beach International Airport (PBI, 20miles) is the closest airport. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL, 65miles) and the Miami International Airport (MIA, 80miles) are other options. |
