Ponce Inlet is a quaint little town located on a barrier island in Florida’s Space Coast. With the Halifax River to its west and the Atlantic Ocean to its east, Ponce Inlet is perfect for those that want to enjoy their vacation close to the water. Marinas provide boat, kayak, and many more types of watercraft for rental. While you are out on the water try your hand at casting a fishing line. You might just land the biggest catch of your life. The public beaches and parks here offer fishing piers, restrooms, and covered pavilions. One of the most popular parks is the Davies Lighthouse Park, which is adjacent to the Ponce De Leon Inlet Museum. The lighthouse is the second tallest in the U.S. and is still in use. Ponce Inlet is also home to the Marine Science Center where you can learn about and observe the fascinating wildlife and marine life in the area. Just north of town is one of Florida’s largest attractions, the Kennedy Space Center, where you can explore the history of the U.S.A.’s space program. Orlando and Disney World are also just a little over an hour away. Daytona Beach Regional (DAB, 12miles) airport is the nearest airport to Ponce Inlet, but you may find more carriers at the Orlando International Airport (MCO, 65miles). |
