Port Saint Joe is located south of Mexico Beach in the Saint Joseph Harbor in the panhandle region of Florida. This oceanfront town is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the Saint Joseph Peninsula, which causes the waters to be calmer than the Gulf. This makes the harbor a great place to spend a relaxing day on the water. Boat rentals can be found at the local marina, which also supplies fishing gear and has a charter fishing service available. Eco-tours by boat and sunset cruises are also available in Port Saint Joe. There are public parks here with waterfront and beach access, but if you really want to see a great beach then head to the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park where there are miles of top rated beaches to play on. The park has many amenities and activities such as swimming, bicycling, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking on nature trails, snorkeling and there are public showers and restrooms. The park provides a great place to see many different species of birds in their natural habitat and from May to October you will find many turtles nesting on the peninsula. The Apalachicola Municipal Airport (AAF, 20miles) and the Panama City-Bay County International Airport (PFN, 36miles) are the closest airports to Port Saint Joe.
