As a matter of fact, the fish swim circles around this island house. Garden House is directly on the Atlantic Channel, no canals to wander around. The boat put in is three canals away. The public beach is five blocks away. You can dock (3) 30-foot boats. Lots of parking for your trailers. Clean your fish at the dock while watching the sun sink into the water or better yet, watch the incredible sunsets from the screened in balcony. Another option is the free kayaks, to explore these spectacular waterways at sunset or sunrise.

Marathon is a wonderful city in the center of the Florida Keys. The city’s surroundings are an ecotourist’s paradise. Crane Point Hammock is the perfect place to explore the history and ecosystems of the Keys while walking along well maintained trails. Boat tours of some of the uninhabited keys, full of mangroves and wildlife, are also available in Marathon. Fishing charters, golfing excursions, tennis courts and many water sports rentals can be found in the city as well. Those who want to meet and swim with dolphins will want to check out the Dolphin Research Center’s programs. Canoeing and hiking among mangroves and lagoons can be found at Long Key State Recreation Area. Snorkeling is also a popular activity in the park. Marathon is also home to museums and historical sites for your exploration. Unique stores and boutiques can be found throughout Marathon. The city is the perfect setting to enjoy a dinner at one of the area’s fine restaurants while watching the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico. The Florida Keys Marathon Airport (MTH) is located on the East side of the city. Miami International Airport (MIA, 85miles) is the closest major airport just outside Miami on Florida’s mainland.
