Across the St. Joseph Bay from Port St. Joe you will find a peninsula about 20 miles long and barely a mile wide. On the Gulf side of this peninsula rests Cape San Blas. Parks such as St. Joseph State Park, Cape Palms Park and Salinas Park line this stretch of land and provide public beaches, diving, hiking, fishing, dune walking and picnic areas for wonderful day trips. If you are looking for something a little more adventurous, try the Stump Hole for a little surf fishing or turtle watching. For the historian in the group, Cape San Blas Lighthouse is a great place to learn about the history of the peninsula. The beaches around Cape San Blas are consistently voted some of the best in the continental United States. Only 23 miles away from Apalochicola, Cape San Blas is close to great shopping, dining, and golfing. Yet, it is far enough away from the commercial tourism to be relaxing and quiet. Enjoy a day in the warm gulf waters or looking across the bay at Port St. Joe, but whatever you do, enjoy your vacation here in Cape San Blas. The nearest airports to Cape San Blas are Apalochicola Municipal Airport (AAW, 22miles) and Panama City International Airport (PFN, 40miles).
