Just 15 miles north of Daytona, along Florida’s Atlantic coast is Flagler Beach, an island between the intra coastal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. With more than six miles of quiet, spacious and pristine public beaches Flagler Beach is one of the best coastal vacation towns in the northeast of the state. The area boasts many activities. There is a public pier, which is perfect for watching the surfers or casting a fishing line for flounder, tarpon or snapper. There are also public tennis courts and golf courses in the area. Flagler Beach is also close to some of Florida’s main attractions. A short drive south along the ocean will put you at Daytona Beach, home of the Daytona International Speedway and an extensive public beach with parking available. Just north of Flagler Beach is St. Augustine, “America’s First City.” Here you can enjoy riding in a horse drawn carriage through the historically reconstructed 18th century Spanish Quarter, walk around the historic downtown shops, and complete the day with fine dining at one of the city’s many restaurants. Also, Orlando’s main attractions such as Sea World, Disney World, and Universal Studios are less than 2 hours away by car. Flagler Beach is truly in a perfect location to enjoy private beach time and yet be close enough to Florida’s main attractions to be able to drive to them. Daytona Beach has the closest airport, Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB, 20miles), to Flagler Beach. The Orlando International (MCO, 85miles) and Jacksonville International (JAX, 75miles) Airports also provide flights to the area.
