Jacksonville Beach is just east of Jacksonville, Florida along the Atlantic coast. This area, along with Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach, serves as Jacksonville’s closest beachfront community. With the Atlantic Ocean to its east and the Intra coastal Waterway on west, Jacksonville Beach is home to many water sports and waterfront activities. There are miles of uncrowded beaches, beach concession stands, souvenir shops, and rental shops for many activities such as fishing, kayaking, and bicycling. There are also inland activities such as tennis, golf and shopping. Amelia Island is just 25 miles north of Jacksonville Beach and is a great place for a day trip. Of course there is also Jacksonville itself, which is home to a vibrant nightlife, professional sports teams, many museums, galleries and stores. The Jacksonville International Airport (JAX, 25miles) is the closest airport to Jacksonville Beach.
