Navarre Beach is located on Santa Rosa Island, the barrier island that protects much of the Florida Panhandle from the Gulf of Mexico. This quiet seaside village is about 25 miles away from Pensacola but don’t let that fool you into thinking this isn’t a vacation destination. The beaches that line the Gulf Coast in the area are pristine and white, and the waters are a rich emerald hue. A very popular way to experience these wonderful beaches is to rent a bicycle and take a ride down County Highway 399 (a new bike path is under construction), which travels along the shores of Santa Rosa Island. Back on the mainland Blackwater River State Forest is a wonderfully preserved area with natural springs feeding its rivers. This river is a great place to go canoeing and kayaking. Guided kayak tours to see dolphins and watercraft rentals can also be found in the area. The surf and river fishing here is spectacular and is a great way to spend a relaxing day on the water. The Navarre Beach Pier is also a good place to cast a few lines. Shopping and dining in the area is as easy as walking around town and exploring the many stores, galleries, seaside cafes and restaurants. With warm waters and an inviting community, Navarre Beach is a great place to spend a vacation in Florida. The Pensacola Regional Airport (PNS, 24miles) and the Okaloosa Regional Airport (VPS, 20miles) are two of the larger nearby airports. |
